Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum of Dubai ordered the hacking of phones belonging to his foreign wife, using the disputed spyware called Pegasus.
The Pegasus virus was developed by Israel. Using this spyware, the attacker may monitor your personal information, such as calendars, contacts, SMS, call history, emails, and browser history. Not only can Pegasus secretly record your chats using your mobile microphone, but it can also utilize your mobile device to capture you without your awareness or track you using your GPS.
In a decision made available on Wednesday, Judge Andrew McFarlane found that Princess Haya Bint al-Hussein had been monitored using the NSO Group Ltd equipment with the “speaking or implied authorization” of Sheik Mohammed. After the princess traveled to the U.K. in 2019, the pair fought for the well-being of their children.
In response, Sheik Mohammed rejected these accusations. The issue includes “alleged state security activities” and “no evidence” of such delicate topics was “not adequate for me,” he added.
