Hackers Gain Access to Panasonic’s Network

Panasonic Corporation, the electronic giant, has revealed a data security breach in which an undetermined quantity of data was exposed. The officials reportedly claimed that hackers illegally entered company servers earlier this month. The big Japanese multinational business reported on Friday that on November 11, an unauthorized third party obtained access to its network.

“Panasonic Corporation has confirmed that its network was illegally accessed by a third party on November 11, 2021. As the result of an internal investigation, it was determined that some data on a file server had been accessed during the intrusion’, read the official news release of Panasonic.

The firm has adopted security countermeasures after the attack, including procedures to restrict external access to the network. Further information on the breach is scarce, with Panasonic’s brief statement providing little in the way of technical specifications or a timetable. However, according to local sources obtained by the Record, the hack has been underway since June, allowing the attackers plenty of time to rummage through the Japanese behemoth’s information.

Panasonic further stated that it is presently collaborating with an impartial “expert” group to evaluate the scope of the breach and whether or not the access resulted in the release of customers’ personal data.
