The malware targeting Android users via SMS has been named FluBot

Aino-Maria Vayrynen of Finland’s National Cybersecurity Center recently released a “serious alert” to inform the country’s Android users about a massive harmful operation.

In this malicious effort, Android users were targeted with FluBot financial malware, which was delivered via text messages sent from negotiated devices.

However, this is not the first time FluBot has launched a campaign; according to reports, this is the second-largest FluBot effort to target Finland.

This form of malware assault is extremely rare and hazardous. In this campaign, the attackers send a series of text messages.

Follow these steps to protect your data

1. You should always perform a factory reset on your device.
2. Notify your bank whenever you use a banking application or store credit card details on your device.
3. Report any financial losses to the police if you encounter them.
4. If you have used any services with the device, be sure to reset the password.
5. You should contact your operator, as the threat actors may send you charged text messages using your subscription.
