Update Chrome as soon as possible: say’s the government

The Indian government has issued a warning to Google Chrome users in India. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued a “high severity” warning to Google Chrome users via the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In). Google Chrome is most likely the most used browser in the country, both on personal computers and mobile phones. According to the CERT-In, attackers might utilize Google Chrome to execute arbitrary code on the victims’ systems.

According to the government advice, Google Chrome has several vulnerabilities as a result of Type Confusion in V8. Google has already patched these vulnerabilities in the most recent Chrome version. As a result, the government issued an alert recommending that all users upgrade their browsers.

According to the government alert, failure to upgrade to the current version of Google Chrome increases the risk of the computer being remotely hijacked by internet criminals and sensitive personal information being disclosed. Google stated that 22 different types of security patches, as identified by external researchers, had been implemented in the most recent Chrome upgrade to protect user privacy.

So, do not forget to upgrade your Chrome today.
