Government, military, and nonprofits are targets of ACTINIUM hackers who steal sensitive data

Microsoft recently announced that Gamaredon, a cybersecurity hacker, is sending out a wave of spear-phishing emails.

However, it has recently been discovered that the ACTINIUM cyber gang is targeting the following Ukrainian industries to steal sensitive data:-

• Military

• Government

• NGO

• Law enforcement

• Judiciary

This terror group is relentless in its pursuit of Ukrainian entities and other groups having ties to Ukraine. Since October 20, 2021, the cyber gang has been launching such attacks.

This attack group issue has also been spotted by Palo Alto Networks Unit 42, in addition to Microsoft. On the other hand, the Palo specialists claimed to have seen threat actors attempting to negotiate with a western government entity in Ukraine on January 19, 2022.

However, the threat actors did not email the downloader; instead, they used job monitoring and employment portals in Ukraine.

This type of threat warning can be generated by an unrelated threat action, which is why it’s critical to maintain vigilance.

The primary goal of threat actors is to extract all sensitive information necessary to maintain access to the system in order to hijack it and utilize it for their purposes. So, be careful while you are clicking anything.
